Costello’s Ace Hardware has opened new stores in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Henrico, Virginia. The locations are about 11,000 and 12,000 square feet, respectively; grand-opening events are planned for Oct. 23–25 in West Chester and Nov. 6–8 in Henrico.
Costello’s Ace Hardware has opened two new stores in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Henrico, Virginia, adding retail locations in both states and setting dates for public grand-opening events. The West Chester store opened Sept. 25, while the Henrico location began serving customers Oct. 9, according to the company information reported by Hardware Retailing.
The West Chester store measures about 11,000 square feet and is already open for business. Its three-day grand-opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026. The report did not specify the store’s street address or provide details about event programming beyond the dates.
Costello’s Ace Hardware of Henrico is approximately 12,000 square feet and opened to customers on Friday, Oct. 9. The company describes it as a store for homeowners, do-it-yourself customers and local professionals seeking supplies for maintenance, repairs and home-improvement projects.
Henrico’s grand-opening celebration is planned for Nov. 6–8, 2026. Costello’s says it will hold a chainsaw board-cutting ceremony on Nov. 6. The company has not provided further details in the source report about the schedule, promotions or participating community groups.
Two New Stores Serve Local Projects
The openings give customers in West Chester and Henrico another local option for hardware and home-maintenance supplies. The Henrico store is described as serving both household customers and local professionals, while the West Chester opening adds a similarly sized retail location to the Pennsylvania community.
The effects on nearby businesses, employment and customer choice have not been quantified in the available report. The clearest confirmed change is that both stores are open ahead of their public celebrations, making their products and services available now rather than only after the events.

Opening Dates and Store Plans
The openings took place on separate dates: Sept. 25 in West Chester and Oct. 9 in Henrico. In each case, the public celebration follows the start of customer service. That distinction means the grand-opening dates are not the stores’ first days of operation.
Michael Costello, the company’s CEO, said the business has been in the hardware trade for more than 50 years. He framed the new locations as efforts to build relationships with residents, rather than simply add products and retail space. The source report does not give a broader expansion plan, store-opening total or financial figures for the two locations.
““Our family has been in the hardware business for more than 50 years, but every time we enter a new community, our goal is the same: earn the trust of our neighbors by providing exceptional service, great products and the kind of helpful experience people should expect from their local hardware store.””
— Michael Costello, CEO of Costello’s Ace Hardware, on the West Chester opening
Expansion Details Not Yet Disclosed
The report confirms the two locations, approximate store sizes, opening dates and planned celebrations, but does not provide street addresses, staffing levels, investment costs or sales expectations. It also does not say whether Costello’s has additional Pennsylvania or Virginia stores planned.
Details of the celebrations remain limited. Costello’s has identified the Henrico chainsaw board-cutting ceremony and the dates for both events, but has not supplied a full agenda or confirmed which local organizations will attend. Claims about future community impact or business performance cannot be assessed from the information available.
Grand Openings Set for October and November
West Chester’s scheduled celebration runs from Oct. 23 through Oct. 25. Henrico’s event follows from Nov. 6 through Nov. 8, with the company’s planned chainsaw board-cutting ceremony on the first day.
Both stores are already open, so customers do not need to wait for the celebrations to visit. Further information about event activities, store services or any additional openings may come from Costello’s, but the source report does not announce a later expansion milestone.
